
Sequel's staff-secure residential academies offer a safe, secure and structured residential environment based on our normative peer culture model. Students enjoy robust educational and vocational opportunities as well as medication management; individual, group and family counseling, extensive recreational/interscholastic opportunities and chemical dependency treatment if needed. Sequel's staff-secure residential academies offer a broad continuum of specialized treatment options including: long-term residential treatment for at-risk and delinquent males and females, short-term residential treatment for males and females, sexual offender treatment for males, therapeutic group homes, alternative day schools, and shelter care.
Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities ("PRTFs")
Sequel's PRTFs offer a structured residential environment that is safe for our residents because of the extensive direct-care and clinical staff support available to them. Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) residents enjoy robust educational opportunities as well as medication management; individual, group and family therapies with licensed clinicians; and extensive recreational opportunities. The residents benefit from experienced medical management teams comprised of psychiatrists and around-the clock nurses as well as a host of licensed clinicians. Our PRTFs host two types of programs:
Neurodevelopmental Programs
Sequel's neurodevelopmental programs serve a diverse cross-section of exceptional children with a range of complex needs including, but not limited to

We offer assessment and eclectic treatment interventions and program components, such as TEACCH, ABA, ABLLS, DIR, PECS, signing and Skill Building, which focus on the individual needs of the child. By matching treatment to the child's individual abilities and needs, continued progress becomes increasingly flexible and may be extended to a variety of settings, including home, group home, and school
Seriously Emotionally Disturbed ("SED"") Programs
Sequel's Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) programs offer treatment for young people with a range of complex needs including, but not limited to:
- Mood Disorders
- Disruptive Behavior Disorders
- Adjustment Disorders
- Dually diagnosed: Mental Health and Substance Abuse
- Self-harmful behaviors
- Destructive behaviors
Sequel treatment strategies include a psychiatric assessment and ongoing psychiatric care, nursing, individualized treatment plans including individual, family and specific group therapies, skill building, and milieu treatment all implemented by credential and highly trained staff.
